Air Sampling aims to recognise, evaluate and minimise the risk of ill health to an employee from hazardous substances used within the workplace.
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 require employers to control substances that have the potential to harm worker’s health, such that exposure to hazardous substances is prevented or reduced. Exposure assessment is often necessary to determine the nature of any controls that may be required and to make sure that the workplace exposure limit (WEL) for a given substance is not likely to be exceeded.
Exposure to hazardous substances can have detrimental effects on employee health and may result in contracting a variety of illnesses such as skin irritation, respiratory complications and terminal illnesses.
The results of workplace monitoring will highlight any exposure to hazardous substances and assess the effectiveness of existing control measures, such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems. The results are evaluated against known Workplace Exposure Limits and can be interpreted to determine any improvements and supplementary control measures.
HAV Control Ltd can undertake a wide variety of monitoring assessments using modern and up to date sampling methodology and equipment. We can also advise on the effectiveness of control measures and the implementation of new systems.
